RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SECOND EXTENSION OF CONTRACT WITH CABLEVISION LIGHTPATH NJ, LLC FOR INTERNET AND VOICE SERVICES, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4.1, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, on September 10, 2019, the Board approved Resolution No. R20190824 authorizing an award of contract to Cablevision Lightpath NJ, LLC for internet and voice access services for a three (3) year term beginning November 1, 2019 and expiring October 31, 2022, with one (1), two (2) year option to renew the contract, in compliance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4.1, et seq.; and RFP-19-001
WHEREAS, on September 6, 2022, the Board approved Resolution No. R-22-0779, exercising the two-year option to renew its contract with Cablevision Lightpath NJ, LLC, beginning November 1, 2022 and expiring October 31, 2024; and
WHEREAS, on December 10, 2024, the Board approved Resolution No. R-24-1109, authorizing the extension of the the contract for internet and voice access services with Cablevision Lightpath NJ, LLC for a four (4) month period, beginning November 1, 2024 and expiring February 28, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent is recommending that the Board extend the contract for internet and voice access services with Cablevision Lightpath NJ, LLC for an additional two (2) month period, beginning March 1, 2025 and expiring April 30, 2025, and for a total amount not to exceed thirty-four thousand dollars ($34,000.00); and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 5-01-31-221-001-U02 and Account No. 5-01-31-221-001-U03, or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 20245 and/or subsequent years’ County budget(s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed by the Administration and Finance Committee, and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4.1, et seq., the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes a two-month extension of its contract for internet and voice access services with Cablevision Lightpath NJ, LLC, beginning March 1, 2025 and expiring April 30, 2025, and for a total amount not to exceed thirty-four thousand dollars ($34,000.00).
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Board shall print, in the official newspaper, a brief notice stating the nature, duration, service, and amount of the contract to Cablevision Lightpath NJ, LLC and maintain a copy of the resolution on file and available for public inspection in the Office of the Clerk of the Board.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, and the Director of the Board are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
