RESOLUTION CONCURRING WITH CITY OF CLIFTON ORDINANCE NO. 8081-26 DATED MARCH 3, 2026, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic are vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and

 

                     WHEREAS, the County is responsible for the maintenance Delawanna Avenue in the City of Clifton, specifically from Main Avenue to River Road; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Clifton has adopted Ordinance No. 8081-26 dated March 3, 2026, attached hereto and made part hereof, revising the speed limit on Delawanna Avenue from 30 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour; and

 

WHEREAS, the County Engineer is recommending that the Board concur with the decision of the City of Clifton to adopt Ordinance No. 8081-26 dated March 3, 2026; and

 

WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the July 1, 2026 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 et seq. that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby concurs with Ordinance No. 8081-26 dated March 3, 2026 adopted by the City of Clifton; and

 

                     LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, County Engineer, and Director of the Board are authorized and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
