RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AWARD OF CONTRACT TO CALLAWAY GOLF SALES COMPANY FOR THE PURCHASE OF PROFESSIONAL GOLF MERCHANDISE FOR PREAKNESS VALLEY GOLF COURSE IN THE TOWNSHIP OF WAYNE, PURSUANT N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-4, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:11-4, et seq., every contract awarded by the County, for the provision or performance of any goods or services, the cost of which in the aggregate exceeds the bid threshold, shall be awarded only by resolution of the Board to the lowest responsible bidder after public advertising for bid and bidding thereof; and
WHEREAS, on January 12, 2026, the Purchasing Agent issued SB-26-016, Re-Bid Golf Professional Shop Merchandise Catalog % Discount Pricing (“SB-26-016”), seeking sealed proposals for a pool of golf professional shop merchandise catalog % discount pricing for the Preakness Valley Golf Course; and
WHEREAS, on January 21, 2026, bids were unsealed for SB-26-016 by the Purchasing Agent with one (1) response received from a qualified bidder listed below; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Parks & Recreation is recommending an award of contract to the vendor listed below for a two (2) year contract term beginning March 24, 2026, and expiring on March 23, 2028:
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Parks & Recreation is recommending that the Board authorize an appropriation for purchases made under SB-26-016 in an amount not to exceed forty thousand dollars ($40,000.00) over the two-year term of the contract, or twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) per year; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 6-01-28-198-002-P02 or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2025 and/or subsequent years’ County budget(s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the February 25, 2026 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes an award of contract to Callaway Golf Sales Company to provide golf professional shop merchandise with catalog % discount pricing for a period beginning March 24, 2026, and expiring March 23, 2028,.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board hereby authorizes an appropriation for the contract under SB-26-016 in an amount not to exceed forty thousand dollars ($40,000.00) over the two-year term of the contract, or twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) per year.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, Director of the Board of County Commissioners, and Purchasing Agent are authorized to execute agreements with the vendors listed herein and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
