RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN EXTENSION ON THE CONTRACT WITH GOLF NOW, LLC FOR PROPRIETARY GOLF365 SOFTWARE FOR PREAKNESS VALLEY GOLF COURSE IN THE TOWNSHIP OF WAYNE, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-15.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) are vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, on April 28, 2020, the Board passed Resolution No. R20200346, authorizing an award of contract to Golf Now, LLC for merchant online payment services for Preakness Valley Golf Course in the Township of Wayne; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-15, a contract may be extended by mutual agreement of the parties to the contract when a contracting unit has commenced rebidding prior to the time the contract expires; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Parks & Recreation is recommending that the Board authorize a temporary six (6) month extension of the contract with Golf Now, LLC to provide an online point of sale and course reservation system for patrons of Preakness Valley Golf Course in the Township of Wayne, with a term beginning May 1, 2024, and expiring October 31, 2024 while the Department of Parks & Recreation prepares the rebidding process; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the March 27, 2024, meeting of the Public Works Committee, and is being recommended to the Board for approval,
NOW, THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-15, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes a six (6) month extension of contract to GolfNow, LLC with a term beginning May 1, 2024, and expiring October 31 for software to manage reservations, point of sale transactions, and to provide a customer database for Preakness Valley Golf Course in the Township of Wayne, while the Department of Parks & Recreation prepares the rebidding process.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, Director of the Department of Parks & Recreation, County Counsel, and the Director of the Board are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
