RESOLUTION ACCEPTING GRANT AWARD FROM THE US DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR THE PASSAIC COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM FY-2025, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the County submitted the Annual Action Plan for the period of FY 2025 to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (hereafter “USHUD”); and
WHEREAS, the Board adopted Resolution R-25-684 on July 15, 2025, authorizing the submission of the Passaic County Community Development Block Grant FY-2025 Application to the USHUD for financial assistance; and
WHEREAS, the County was approved for total amount of nine hundred ninety-six thousand nine hundred sixty-two ($996,962.00) dollars; and
WHEREAS, the Board is desirous of accepting the aforesaid grant funds; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the February 26, 2026, meeting of the Planning and Economic Development Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 et seq., that the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic hereby accepts from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development the grant award in the amount of nine hundred ninety-six thousand nine hundred sixty-two ($996,962.00) dollars for the Passaic County FY 2025 Community Development Block Grant Program; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Commissioner Director and Clerk to the Board, as well as the Director of Economic Development, are hereby authorized to act as the authorized representatives of the County of Passaic and to execute all necessary documents and certifications on behalf of the County of Passaic.
