RESOLUTION AMENDING R-24-1155 AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT THE EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE GRANT (JAG) TO SUPPORT THE MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL GANG, GUN, AND NARCOTICS TASK FORCE TO REFLECT THE CHANGE IN THE JAG (SUB AWARD JAG 1-16TF-23 ) GRANT AWARD FROM $195,185 TO $195,042

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (the “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioner of the County of Passaic (the “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, on December 10, 2024, the Board approved Resolution R-24-1155 authorizing the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office to apply for and accept the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Grant, Subaward Number JAG-1-16-TF-23 (JAG 1-16TF-23), which will allow it to accept an award of up to one hundred ninety-five thousand, one hundred eighty-five dollars ($195,185.00) to support its Multi-Jurisdictional Gang, Gun, and Narcotics Task Force from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the PCPO now seeks to amend Resolution R-24-1155 to include the change to the JAG 1-16TF-23 grant award from $195,185.00 to $195,042.00; and
WHEREAS, this matter has been reviewed by the Law and Public Safety, on March 4, 2025, and is being recommended to the Board of for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic hereby authorizes an amendment to Resolution R-24-1155 to include the change to the JAG 1-16TF-23 grant award from $195,185.00 to $195,042.00.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that all the other terms and conditions as set forth in Resolution R-24-1155 remain in full force and effect.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, County Administrator, Passaic County Prosecutor and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
