RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) 2026 DODGE DURANGO FROM OF NIELSEN OF MORRISTOWN, INC. FOR USE BY THE BOROUGH OF BLOOMINGDALE POLICE DEPARTMENT, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A 40A:11-10 ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (the “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq.; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Passaic Board of County Commissioners (the “Board”) is vested with the powers to make all decisions on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, the governing bodies of two or more contracting units may provide by joint agreement for the provision and performance of goods and services for use by their respective jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, the County is a member of the Cranford Police Cooperative Pricing System (#47CPCPS) which awarded a contract under Police & Administrative Vehicles (2026 Model Year), Contract No. 25-01 to numerous vendors, including Nielsen of Morristown, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Nielsen of Morristown, Inc. provided a quote to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, on behalf of the Bloomingdale Police Department, for the purchase of one (1) 2026 Dodge Durango in an amount not to exceed forty-four thousand nine hundred seventy-six dollars ($44,976.00), which is being recommended for approval on behalf of the Bloomingdale Police Department using their funds from the Forfeited Funds Trust; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. T-22-56-850-014-801, or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2026 and/or subsequent years’ County budget (s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the May 5, 2026 meeting of the Law and Public Safety and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes the purchase of one (1) 2026 Dodge Durango from Nielsen of Morristown, Inc. in an amount not to exceed forty-four thousand nine hundred seventy-six dollars ($44,976.00) for the Bloomingdale Police Department, utilizing funds from the Forfeited Funds Trust.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, Purchasing Agent, and Chief Financial Officer are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
