RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE REALLOCATION OF GRANT FUNDS FROM THE OPEN SPACE, FARMLAND, AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION TRUST FUND TO THE BOROUGH OF RINGWOOD.

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) created an Open Space, Farmland and Historic Preservation Trust Fund Program (hereafter “Program”) in conformity with the will of the voters in the 1996 election, as authorized by N.J.S.A. 40:12-15.2; and
WHEREAS, the purpose and goals of the above is to achieve, in partnership with others, a system of interconnected open spaces, whose protection will preserve and enhance New Jersey’s natural environment and its historic, scenic, and recreational resources for public use and enjoyment; and
WHEREAS, the Borough of Ringwood is requesting that two hundred thousand ($200,000) dollars in grant funds previously awarded to the Borough for the Ekskine/Skyline Drive Bridge Project be reallocated towards the Borough’s ongoing Stonetown Turfing Project; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the January 16, 2025, meeting of the Planning and Economic Development Committee and being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) authorizes the reallocation of grant funds from the Open Space, Farmland and Historic Preservation Trust Fund in the amount of two hundred thousand ($200,000.00) dollars previously provided to the Borough for Erskine/Skyline Drive Bridge towards the Borough’s ongoing Stonetown Turfing Project as more fully set forth above; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, Director of the Board, and County Counsel are hereby authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
