RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPROPRIATIONS BETWEEN THE PERIOD OF JANUARY 1, 2024, TO AND ADOPTION OF THE COUNTY OF PASSAIC BUDGET FOR AN EMERGENCY TEMPORARY GRANT BUDGET, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20

WHEREAS the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20, the Board may and, if any contracts, commitments, or payments are to be made prior to the adoption of the budget, by resolution adopted within the first thirty days of the beginning of the fiscal year, and no adequate provision has been made in the 2024 temporary grant budget for the aforesaid purposes, and
WHEREAS the total temporary grant resolution adopted in the calendar year 2024 pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 96, P.L. 1951 (N.J.S.A. 40A:4-20) including this resolution total $15,968,315.00; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:4-19 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes the following temporary appropriations for the period beginning January 1, 2024, and the adoption of the County of Passaic Budget for the temporary grant budget:
1. Emergency temporary appropriations be and the same are hereby in the amount as set forth in the table attached to and made part of this resolution.

2. Said emergency temporary appropriations will be provided for in the 2024 County of Passaic Budget.
3. That the Clerk of the Board will send one certificated copy of this resolution; shall be filed with the Director of the Division of Local Government Services.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution is approved by not less than two-thirds of the members of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Financial Officer, County Administrator, County Counsel, and County Treasurer are authorized to take any and all action to carry out the purposes of this resolution.
