RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH WEST MILFORD BELTONE HEARING AID CENTER.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereinafter “Board”) are vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Health Services (hereafter “Department”) is responsible for protecting and promoting the health of approximately 525,000 residents from 16 Municipalities in the County; and
WHEREAS, the Director/Health Officer requests a resolution for a Memorandum of Understanding with the West Milford Beltone Hearing Aid Center to provide hearing screening to Passaic County Residents; and
WHEREAS, the hearing screenings are scheduled concurrently with the quarterly vision screening at the Passaic County of Health Services office at 930 Riverview Drive, Suite 250, Totowa, New Jersey 07512; and
WHEREAS, the screenings are scheduled for January 13, 2025, April 14, 2025, July 14, 2025, and October 6, 2025, but the dates may change if needed; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the January 14, 2024, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) hereby authorizes the Department of Health Services to execute the attached Memorandum of Understanding with the West Milford Beltone Hearing Aid Center to provide hearing screening to Passaic County Residents; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Board, the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Director of Health Services are authorized to take any and all actions necessary to have the above Memorandum of Understanding executed.
