RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2026 OPEN SPACE, FARMLAND, AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION TRUST FUND BUDGET, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, on April 25, 2017, the Board approved Resolution No. R20170349, adopting a uniform body of rules and regulations governing the Open Space, Farmland, and Historic Preservation Trust Fund (“Rules”); and
WHEREAS, Chapter 17 of the Rules requires the Board to pass a yearly budget for appropriations from the Open Space, Farmland, and Historic Preservation Trust Fund, outlining improvement projects and other allowable expenses within the Passaic County Park System; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 17, Part 1(a), the County Administrator, in consultation with the County Engineer, Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation, Director of the Planning and Economic Development Department, and Director of the Cultural and Historic Affairs Department, prepared the 2026 Open Space, Farmland, and Historic Preservation Trust Fund Budget, attached hereto and made part of this Resolution, which is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the January 28, 2026, Administration and Finance Committee meeting, and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic approves the attached 2026 Open Space, Farmland, and Historic Preservation Trust Fund Budget.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, Chief Financial Officer, County Counsel, County Administrator and Director of the Board are authorized to take any action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
