RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AWARD OF CONTRACT TO MURRAY PAVING AND CONCRETE, LLC FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FIRE RATED DOORS AT PREAKNESS HEALTHINESS CENTER IN THE TOWNSHIP OF WAYNE, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Passaic Board of County Commissioners (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, the governing bodies of two or more contracting units may provide by a joint agreement for the provision of the performance of goods and services to be used by their respective jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, the County is a member of the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey #65MCECCPS (hereafter “#65MCECCPS”) a joint cooperative pricing system, offering competitive pricing for various goods and services established pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, et seq.; and
WHEREAS, in compliance with the law, #65MCECCPS issued and awarded a contract to multiple vendors, including Murray Paving and Concrete, LLC, General Repair & Maintenance, under #65MCECCPS JOC Contract No. 20/21-03; and
WHEREAS, the County Engineer is recommending that the Board authorize an award of contract to Murray Paving and Concrete, LLC, for services under #65MCECCPS JOC Contract No. 20/21-03 through the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey, in an amount not to exceed one hundred fifty-five thousand ninety-four dollars and sixty-six cents ($155,094.66); and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. C-04-55-166-002-901 or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2024 and/or subsequent years’ County budget (s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at a meeting on March 13, 2024, by the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes the award of contract to Murray Paving and Concrete, LLC for the Replacement of the Fire Rated Doors at the Preakness Healthcare Center under #65MCECCPS JOC Contract No. 20/21-03 through the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey, in an amount not to exceed one hundred fifty-five thousand ninety-four dollars and sixty-six cents ($155,094.66).
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Board are authorized to execute the contracts and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
