RESOLUTION AMENDING R-23-0916 AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT THE FY22 JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT (JAG) PROGRAM TO REFLECT THE CHANGE IN THE JAG (SUB AWARD 1-616TF-22) GRANT AWARD FROM $195,185.00 TO $195,042.00

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (the “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioner of the County of Passaic (the “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, on September 26, 2023, the Board approved Resolution R-23-0916 authorizing the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office (“PCPO”) to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office to apply for and accept the FY22 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program (sub-award JAG-1-16TF-22) in an amount up to one hundred forty-six thousand five hundred and seven dollars ($146,507.00) for the period from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024, with no in-kind match required for use in its Multi-Jurisdiction County Gang, Gun & Narcotics Task Force; and
WHEREAS, the PCPO now seeks to amend Resolution R 23-0916 to include the change to the JAG 1-16TF-23 grant award from $195,185.00 to $195,042.00; and
WHEREAS, this matter has been reviewed by the Law and Public Safety, on February 18, 2025, and is being recommended to the Board of for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic hereby authorizes an amendment to Resolution R 23-0916 to include the change to the JAG 1-16TF-23 grant award from $195,185.00 to $195,042.00.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office shall use the funds received for the purposes set forth in its application for the receipt of said grant funds and as set forth in this resolution.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, County Administrator, Passaic County Prosecutor, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
