RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AWARD OF CONTRACT TO SLADE ELEVATOR OF MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE OF ELEVATOR AND CHAIRLIFT MAINTENANCE IN VARIOUS PASSAIC COUNTY FACILITIES PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:11-12

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-12, et seq. the County may without advertising for bids purchase goods or services under any contract or contracts for such goods or service entered into on behalf of the State by the Division of Purchase and Property in the Department of Treasury; and
WHEREAS, Slade Elevator of Mountainside, NJ submitted a competitive price under State Contract 20-GNSV2-01119 for elevator maintenance, repair, testing, and inspection services to the State of New Jersey, Department of the Treasury, Division of Purchase and Property; and
WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds received a quote from Slade Elevator of Mountainside, NJ for the Maintenance and Service of Elevator and Chairlift Maintenance in Various Passaic County Facilities in an amount not to exceed two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00), beginning on January 1, 2024, and expiring on December 31, 2025; and
WHEREAS funds are available in Account No. 4-01-20-112-004-207, 4-01-20-112-001-207, or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2024 and/or subsequent years’ County budget (s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed on February 7, 2024, by the Public Works Committee, and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4, et seq., the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorize an award of contract to Slade Elevator of Mountainside, NJ for the Maintenance and Service of Elevator and Chairlift Maintenance in Various Passaic County Facilities in an amount not to exceed two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00), beginning on January 1, 2024, and expiring on December 31, 2025.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Board are authorized to take any other action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
