RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY PURCHASING AGENT TO ADVERTISE AND RECEIVE BIDS TO REPAIR THE COURTHOUSE ANNEX TUNNEL IN THE CITY OF PATERSON, PURSUANT N.J.S.A 40A: 11-23, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs desires to undertake a project to repair the tunnel between the Passaic County Courthouse and the Courthouse Annex building in the City of Paterson; and
WHEREAS, the specifications for the repair of the Courthouse Annex Tunnel have been prepared and conform with County and industry engineering standards the Director of the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs is recommending that the Board authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids for the Repair of the Courthouse Annex Tunnel in the City of Paterson; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq. the County shall publish the advertisement for bids in advance of the date fixed for receiving the bids to promote competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the February 28, 2024 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq., that the Passaic County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the Passaic County Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids as recommended by the Director of the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs for the Repair of the Courthouse Annex Tunnel in the City of Paterson.
