RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENTS OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AS A MEMBER AND ALTERNATE MEMBER TO THE PASSAIC COUNTY PLANNING BOARD FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2024, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:27-1, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:27-1, et seq., the Board established the Passaic County Planning Board (“Planning Board”); and
WHEREAS, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40:27-1, the members of the Planning Board shall be the Director of the Board, one member of the Board to be appointed by the Director, the County Engineer, and other citizens who may not hold any other county office and who shall be appointed by the Director of the Board, with the approval of that body; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:27-1.1(d), the Director of the Board, with the approval of a majority of the Board may appoint a member of the Board to serve as an alternate to the two Board members appointed to the Planning Board; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:27-1 and N.J.S.A. 40:27-1(d), the Director of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic appoints the following members of the Board to the Passaic County Planning Board for calendar year 2024:
1. County Commissioner Terry Duffy as a member of the Passaic County Planning Board.
2. County Commissioner Orlando Cruz as alternate member of the Passaic County Planning Board.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Commissioners appointed herein are authorized to take any action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution as members of the Passaic County Planning Board.
