RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY PURCHASING AGENT TO ADVERTISE AND RECEIVE BIDS FOR THE MODERNIZATION AND REHABILITATION OF THE PRISONER ELEVATOR AT THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING IN THE CITY OF PATERSON, AND ACCESSIBILITY LIFT ELEVATOR AT THE SHERIFF’S HEADQUARTERS IN THE TOWNSHIP OF WAYNE, PURSUANT N.J.S.A 40A: 11-23, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Engineer desires to undertake a project to modernize and rehabilitate the prisoner elevator at the Administration Building at 401 Grand Street in the City of Paterson, and the accessibility lift elevator at the Sheriff’s Headquarters at 435 Hamburg Turnpise in the Township of Wayne; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Engineer is recommending that the Board authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids for the Elevator Modernization and Rehabilitation at the Administration Building and Accessibility Lift Elevator at the Sheriff’s Headquarters project; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq. the County shall publish the advertisement for bids in advance of the date fixed for receiving the bids to promote competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the February 14, 2024 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq., that the Passaic County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the Passaic County Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids as recommended by the Passaic County Engineer for the Elevator Modernization and Rehabilitation at the Administration Building and Accessibility Lift Elevator at the Sheriff’s Headquarters project in the City of Paterson and Township of Wayne, respectively.
