RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF GROUNDS EQUIPMENT FROM MTE EQUIPMENT SOLUTIONS INC., TO BE USED TO MAINTAIN THE PASSAIC COUNTY PREAKNESS VALLEY GOLF COURSES FOR THE PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Passaic Board of County Commissioners (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, the governing bodies of two or more contracting units may provide by a joint agreement for the provision of the performance of goods and services to be used by their respective jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, the County is a member of the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey, (hereafter “ESCNJ”), a joint cooperative pricing system offering competitive pricing for various goods and services, established pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, et seq.; and
WHEREAS, in compliance with the law, ESCNJ issued and awarded a contract to various vendors pursuant Contract No. ESCNJ- #22/23-12, which includes MTE Equipment Solutions Inc. of New Milford CT; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks and Recreation is recommending purchases including a Sweep Star 60 Rubber Fing and TR320 Diesel 3WD Std as well as other accessories in an amount not to exceed eighty-nine thousand nine hundred forty dollars and fifty-one cents ($89,940.51):
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 5-01-44-900-003-000 or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2025 and/or subsequent years’ County budget (s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the April 30, 2025, meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes the purchase of grounds equipment from MTE Equipment Solutions Inc., in an amount not to exceed eighty-nine thousand nine hundred forty dollars and fifty-one cents ($89,940.51).
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Board are authorized to execute the contracts and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
