RESOLUTION CONCURRING WITH ORDINANCE NO. 1511 DATED FEBRUARY 24, 2025 OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LITTLE FALLS, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the County is responsible for the maintenance of Main Street, Long Hill Road, Ridge Road, and Stevens Avenue in the Township of Little Falls; and
WHEREAS, the Township of Little Falls has adopted Ordinance No. 1511 dated February 24, 2025, attached hereto and made part hereof, which revises the speed limits on the following roadways as follows:
1) Main Street/East Main Street: both directions of travel - 25 miles per hour, from Browertown Road to Little Falls/Fairfield border
2) Long Hill Road: both directions of travel - 25 miles per hour, from Browertown Road to the Little Falls/Montclair border
3) Ridge Road: both directions of travel - 25 miles per hour, from Long Hill Road to the Little Falls/Cedar Grove border
4) Stevens Avenue: both directions of travel - 25 miles per hour, from Main Street to the Little Falls/Cedar Grove border; and
WHEREAS, the County Engineer is recommending that the Board concur with the decision of the Township of Little Falls to adopt Ordinance No. 1511 dated February 24, 2025; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the March 26, 2025 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 et seq. that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby concurs with Ordinance No. 1511 dated February 25, 2025 adopted by the Township of Little Falls.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, County Engineer, and Director of the Board are authorized and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
