RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS & RECREATION TO APPLY FOR THE GRANT FROM THE LOCAL RECREATION IMPROVEMENT GRANT FROM THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS TO IMPROVE AND REPAIR THE POOL AND SPLASH PARK AT CAMP HOPE, LOCATED AT 1792 UNION VALLEY ROAD IN WEST MILFORD PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs Local Recreation Improvement Grant supports the improvement and repair of public recreation facilities including parks, municipal recreation centers, and local stadiums; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department and Parks and Recreation is making a recommendation to apply and obtain the Local Recreation Improvement Grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs in the amount of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) to carry out a project to repair and improve the pool and Splash Park at Camp Hope located at 1792 Union Road West Milford; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the February 7, 2024, meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the application of grant application from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for approximately one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) to carry out a project to repair and improve the pool and Splash Park at Camp Hope located at 1792 Union Road West Milford.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic further recognizes and accepts that the Department may offer a lesser or greater amount and therefore, upon receipt of the grant agreement from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, does further authorize the execution of any such grant agreement; and also; upon receipt of the fully executed agreement from the Department, does further authorize the expenditure of funds pursuant to the terms of the agreement between the County and the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, Director of Parks and Recreation, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized to execute any documents for the grant application and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
