RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE TO ACCEPT THE SFY25 ALTERNATIVE RESPONSES TO REDUCE INSTANCES OF VIOLENCE AND ESCALATION (ARRIVE) TOGETHER CRITICAL INCIDENT MODEL GRANT, FOR THE EXTENDED GRANT TERM OF MARCH 17, 2026 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2027, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (the “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioner of the County of Passaic (the “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, on November 18, 2024, the Board passed Resolution No. R-24-1068, which was further amended by virtue of Resolution No. R-25-0303 dated March 25, 2025, accepting the SFY 25 Alternative Responses to Reduce Instances of Violence and Escalation (ARRIVE) Together Critical Incident Model Grant, Subaward 25-ARRVCIM-16, in the amount of one hundred twenty-six thousand dollars ($126,000.00) for the grant term of March 17, 2025 through March 16, 2026 with no in-kind or cash match required; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office has received approval from the State of New Jersey, Department of Law and Public Safety, to extend the grant term in order to expend remaining funds on the grant, in the extended term of March 17, 2026 through June 30, 2027, which is being recommended for approval by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the May 5, 2026, meeting of the Law and Public Safety Committee Meeting and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 that the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office to accept the SFY 25 Alternative Responses to Reduce Instances of Violence and Escalation (ARRIVE) Together Critical Incident Model Grant, Subaward 25-ARRVCIM-16, issued by the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety, for an extended grant term of March 17, 2026 through June 30, 2027.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office shall use the funds received for the purposes described in the application submitted for same.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, County Administrator, Passaic County Prosecutor, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
