RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF SENIOR SERVICES TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT THE AAA NO WRONG DOOR LTC 2027 GRANT FROM THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES, DIVISION OF AGING SERVICES, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter "County") is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter "Board") is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey, Department of Human Services, Division of Aging Services has made funding available through the AAA No Wrong Door LTC 2027 Grant (hereafter "Grant"), which is intended to enhance coordination between Area Agencies on Aging/Aging & Disability Resource Connections and County Social Services Agencies to streamline access and eligibility determination for long-term services and supports; and
WHEREAS, the County's Department of Senior Services, Division of Aging Services (hereafter "Department") is seeking to apply for and accept the Grant from the State of New Jersey, Department of Human Services, Division of Aging Services in the amount of one hundred five thousand seven hundred forty dollars ($105,740.00) for the grant period of July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the September 30, 2026 meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, that the Passaic County Board of County Commissioners hereby authorizes the Department to apply for and accept the AAA No Wrong Door LTC 2027 Grant from the State of New Jersey, Department of Human Services, Division of Aging Services in the amount of one hundred five thousand seven hundred forty dollars ($105,740.00) for the grant period of July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Board, the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and the Director of the Department of Senior Services are authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to apply for and accept the Grant.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and the Director of the Board are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
