RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT FUNDS FROM THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY, OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL, DEPARTMENT OF LAW AND PUBLIC SAFETY 2025 STATE BODY ARMOR REPLACEMENT FUND, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioner of the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office seeks permission to apply and accept funds in the amount of five thousand nine hundred sixty-seven dollars and sixteen cents ($5,967.16) through the 2025 State Body Armor Replacement Fund to be used to provide Prosecutor’s Office Investigators with body armor; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the February 3, 2026 meeting of the Law and Public Safety Committee and is being recommended to the Board of for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office to apply and accept funds in the amount of five thousand nine hundred sixty-seven dollars and sixteen cents ($5,967.16) through the 2025 State Body Armor Replacement Fund to be used to provide Prosecutor’s Office Investigators with body armor.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office shall use the funds received for the purposes set forth in its application for the receipt of said grant funds and as set forth in this resolution.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that Resolution No. R-25-0771 dated August 12, 2025 shall be and hereby is repealed.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, County Administrator, Passaic County Prosecutor, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
