RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY TO APPLY TO THE FY26 DESTINATION MARKETING ORGANIZATION GRANT PROGRAM, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:20-1, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and

 

WHEREAS, the County wishes to apply for the FY26 Destination Marketing Organization Grant Program to support the execution of a comprehensive marketing plan to attract out-of-County and state visitors to the County’s various historic and cultural points of interest; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Cultural & Historical Affairs is recommending that the County apply to the FY26 Destination Marketing Organization Grant Program for a grant of three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000.00) for a three (3) year cycle; and

 

WHEREAS, this matter was at discussed at the April 30, 2025 meeting of the Public Works Committee, and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes a grant application to the for a grant from the Highlands Council Tourism Expansion Grant Program of the FY26 Destination Marketing Organization Grant Program for a grant of three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000.00) for a three (3) year cycle to continue efforts as part of its destination marketing organization status.

 

LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, Director of the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized execute any documents for the grant application and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
