RESOLUTION CONCURRING WITH ORDINANCE NO. 2346-25 DATED APRIL 16, 2025 OF THE BOROUGH OF HAWTHORNE, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and

                     

                     WHEREAS, the County is responsible for the maintenance of Goffle Road and Rea Avenue in the Borough of Hawthorne; and

 

                     WHEREAS, the Borough of Hawthorne has adopted Ordinance No. 2346-25 dated April 16, 2025, attached hereto and made part hereof, which establishes the following items: :

 

1)                     Establishing Speed Limit of 35 mph for the entire length of Goffle Road in the Borough of Hawthorne

2)                     Establishing a No Turn on Red on the North Side of Rea Avenue and Goffle Road Intersection

 

WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the June 4, 2025 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 et seq. that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby concurs with Ordinance No. 2346-25 dated April 16, 2025 adopted by the Borough of Hawthorne; and

 

LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, County Engineer, and Director of the Board are authorized and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
