RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE LOGISTIC LETTER BETWEEN THE PASSAIC COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES AND THE NJ COMMISSION FOR THE BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED (PROJECT B.E.S.T.) PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 13:1E-213 ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereinafter “Board”) are vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Health Services (hereafter “Department”) is responsible for protecting and promoting the health of approximately 525,000 residents from 16 Municipalities in the County; and

WHEREAS, the Director of the Department requests a resolution authorizing execution of the attached Logistic Letter between the Passaic County Department of Health Services and NJ Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired (Project B.E.S.T.) to formally request an eye screening site at the Totowa site at 930 River View Drive, Suite 250, Totowa, NJ; and

WHEREAS, this screening is for the Women’s Health Extravaganza, scheduled for Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the Men’s Health Extravaganza scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; and

                     WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the March 4, 2025, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and being recommended to the Board for approval; and

                     NOW THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED pursuant to N.J.S.A. 13:1E-213 et seq. that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the execution of the Logistic Letter between the Passaic County Department of Health Services and NJ Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired (B.E.S.T.) for eye screenings which will take place at the Totowa Site; and

                     LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Board, Clerk to the Board, and the Director/Health Officer are hereby authorized to execute the necessary agreements to effectuate the above.
