RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE AREA AGENCY ON AGING TO HOLD AN IN-PERSON PUBLIC FORUM ON JUNE 26, 2025, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SOLICITING AND RECEIVING COMMENTS ON THE 2026 AREA PLAN CONTRACT, PURSUANT TO 42 U.S.C.A. SEC. 3001, ET. SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (the “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) are vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the County, through its Department of Senior Services (hereafter “Department”), provides assistance with senior benefit programs, including home and community services to senior citizens throughout Passaic County and operates the Meals on Wheels Program, delivering meals to qualified homebound senior citizens throughout Passaic County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Area Agency on Aging and the Passaic County Senior Advisory Committee will hold a public forum for the purpose of soliciting and receiving comments or suggestions from the public on the 2026 Area Plan Contract on June 26, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the Plan includes services and programs that reflect the needs, issues and concerns of our Passaic County elderly residents; and
WHEREAS, the public is invited to attend and comment on a spending plan for services and implementation of programs that will meet the needs of Passaic County elderly residents; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 10:4-6, the notice for such public hearing must be published in at least two (2) newspapers circulating in the County and transmitted at least 30 (thirty) days in advance of said public forum; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the April 29, 2025, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to 49 U.S.C. SEC.5310, et. seq., the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is authorized to hold a public forum for the purpose of soliciting and receiving comments on the 2026 Area Plan Contract on June 26, 2025.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 10:4-6, the Clerk to the Board is hereby authorized to publish the necessary notices for the hearing to be conducted on June 26, 2025, at 10:00AM, in accordance with the law.
