RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OPENING OF THE WAITING LIST FOR PROJECT-BASED VOUCHERS AT THE LIBERTY AT POMPTON LAKES

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Public Housing Agency (“PCPHA”) will be opening the Waiting List exclusively for Project-Based Vouchers for The Liberty at Pompton Lakes, a senior/veteran affordable living community located at 519 Ringwood Avenue, Pompton Lakes, New Jersey; and
WHEREAS, the notice, attached herein, specifies that applications will be available beginning March 18, 2026, at designated municipal locations throughout the service area, and may also be printed from the County website; and
WHEREAS, the notice also explains that applications will be placed on the Waiting List in chronological order and that preference will be given to applicants living or working in the service jurisdiction, with additional preference for veterans and residents of Pompton Lakes; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds it necessary and appropriate to formally authorize the opening of the Waiting List to ensure compliance with federal and local housing requirements and to inform eligible residents of the opportunity.
WHEREAS, this matter was reviewed and discussed at the February 12, 2026, meeting of the Planning and Economic Development Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Passaic County Board of County Commissioners that the Public Notice announcing the opening of the Waiting List for Project-Based Vouchers at The Liberty at Pompton Lakes is hereby approved and authorized for publication in accordance with applicable regulations
