RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES TO ACCEPT THE 2026 NEW JERSEY CLEAN COMMUNITIES ENTITLEMENT, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 13:1E-213, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Health Services (“Department”) is responsible for protecting and promoting the health of approximately 525,000 residents from 16 Municipalities in the County; and
WHEREAS, established pursuant to N.J.S.A. 13:1E-213 et seq., the New Jersey Clean Communities Program is a statewide litter abatement program that provides funds to counties and municipalities, to be used for litter cleanup and removal programs; and
WHEREAS, the New Jersey Clean Communities program has informed the Division that the County is eligible for 2026 New Jersey Clean Communities Entitlement funds in the amount of one hundred one thousand nine hundred forty-two dollars and fifteen cents ($101,942.15); and
WHEREAS, there is no dollar match to accept this grant; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the May 27, 2026, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 13:1E-213, et seq., the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Department of Health Services, Recycling and Natural Resources Division, to accept 2026 New Jersey Clean Communities Entitlement funds in the amount of one hundred one thousand nine hundred forty-two dollars and fifteen cents ($101,942.15).
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Department, and Director of the Board are authorized to take any action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
