RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. R-25-76 AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT FUNDING FROM FFY23 VICTIM OF CRIME ACT (VOCA) GRANT PROGRAM (SUBAWARD NUMBER VS-16-23)” TO INCREASE THE COUNTY IN-KIND SALARY/FRINGE MATCH FUNDS

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and

 

                      WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Passaic Board of County Commissioners (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and

 

                     WHEREAS, on January 21, 2025, the Board passed Resolution No. R-25-76 authorizing an amendment to Resolution R-24-592 authorizing the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office (hereafter “PCPO”) to apply for and accept funding for the FFY23 Victim of Crime Act (hereafter “VOCA”) grant program; and

 

                     WHEREAS, Resolution Nos. R-25-76 and R-24-592 are hereby amended pursuant to the provisions set forth herein; and

 

                     WHEREAS, on June 25, 2024, the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic adopted R-24-592 authorizing the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office to apply for and accept funds in the amount of one hundred seventy five thousand five hundred twenty five dollars ($175,525.00) from the FFY23 Victims of Crimes Act (hereafter “VOCA”) Grant Program (Subaward Number VS-16-23), administered by the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety for the period beginning on October 1, 2024, and ending on September 30, 2025; and

 

WHEREAS, the total funds associated with this grant include a federal allocation of one hundred seventy-five thousand five hundred twenty-five dollars ($175,525.00) and a County in-kind salary/fringe match of sixty-one thousand fifty dollars ($61,050.00), bringing the total project funding to two hundred thirty-six thousand five hundred seventy-five dollars ($236,575.00); and

 

WHEREAS, the PCPO recommends amending Resolution Number R-24-592 to increase the County in-kind salary/ fringe match funds from forty-three thousand, eighty hundred eighty-one dollars ($43,881.00) to sixty-one thousand fifty dollars ($61,050.00).

 

WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the June 10, 2025 meeting of the Law and Public Safety Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes an amendment to Resolution Number R-24-592 to increase the County in-kind salary/ fringe match funds from forty-three thousand eighty hundred eighty-one dollars ($43,881.00) to sixty-one thousand fifty dollars ($61,050.00).

 

LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that all other terms and conditions set forth in Resolution Nos. R-25-76 and R-24-592, to the extent not inconsistent with this Resolution, shall remain in full force and effect.

 

LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, Director of the Board of County Commissioners, and Purchasing Agent are authorized to take any other action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
