RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT FUNDING FROM THE CHILD ADVOCACY DEVELOPMENT GRANTS, WHICH IS ADMINISTERED BY THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHERAS, the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioner of the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office (hereinafter “PCPO”) seeks permission to apply for and accept funds in the amount of one hundred eighty-three thousand seven hundred and twenty-one dollars ($183,721.00) from the Child Advocacy Development Grants, which is administered by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families for the period July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the funds will be used to provide treatment services, construction, renovations, equipment, technology improvements, expansion or redesign of the child advocacy centers; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed by the Law and Public Safety Committee meeting and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office to apply for and accept funds in the amount one hundred eighty-three thousand seven hundred and twenty-one dollars ($183,721.00) from the Child Advocacy Development Grants, which is administered by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families for the period July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office shall use the funds received for the purposes described in the application submitted for same.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, County Administrator, Prosecutor and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
