RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF PASSAIC DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES AND ST. JOSEPH’S UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER RAINBOWS OF HOPE

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereinafter “Board”) are vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Health Services (hereafter “Department”) is responsible for protecting and promoting the health of approximately 525,000 residents from 16 Municipalities in the County; and
WHEREAS, the Director/Health Officer requests a resolution for a Memorandum of Understanding between the Passaic County Department of Health Services and St. Joseph’s University Medical Center Rainbows of Hope located at DePaul Ambulatory Care Center, 11 Getty Avenue, Paterson, NJ 07503, to provide free breast, cervical, colorectal, and prostate screenings for patient’s registered with the County of Passaic Department of Health Services; and
WHEREAS, this Memorandum of Understanding is renewable on an annual basis and any revision to this Memorandum must be submitted in writing and approved by both parties; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the March 4, 2025, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) hereby authorizes the County of Passaic Department of Health Services to execute the attached Memorandum of Understanding between the County of Passaic Department of Health Services and St. Joseph’s University Medical Center Rainbows of Hope to collaborate to provide health care services; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Board, the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Director of Health Services are authorized to take any and all actions necessary to have the above Memorandum of Understanding executed.
