RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION 2023 LOCAL BRIDGE FUND PROGRAM GRANT OF $100,000.00 AND TO SUBMIT APPLICATIONS FOR THE BOONTON TURNPIKE BRIDGE/MOUNTAINVIEW BOULEVARD BRIDGE NO. 1600-024 PROJECT IN THE TOWNSHIP OF WAYNE AND BOROGUH OF LINCOLN PARK, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the New Jersey Department of Transportation (hereafter “NJDOT”) has awarded the County the 2023 Local Bridge Fund Program Grant in the amount of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the County Engineer will submit application for the Boonton Turnpike Bridge/Mountainview Boulevard Bridge No. 1600-024 Project in the Township of Wayne and Borough of Lincoln Park; and
WHEREAS, the County Engineer is seeking authorization to accept the NJDOT 2023 Local Bridge Fund Program Grant and submit the applications for the projects listed herein; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the June 10, 2026 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes the acceptance of the New Jersey Department of Transportation 2023 Local Bridge Fund Program Grant in the amount of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) and further authorizes the County Engineer to submit the applications for the project listed above.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, Chief Financial Officer, County Counsel, County Engineer, and Director of the Board are authorized to execute any documents or take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
