RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEACCESSION OF ITEMS AT DEY MANSION WASHINGTON’S HEADQUARTERS FOR PUBLIC AUCTION, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF CULTURAL & HISTORIC AFFIARS, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Cultural & Historic Affairs is seeking authorization to initiate the deaccession of items from its collections, specifically the items listed in Schedule A herein, at Dey Mansion Washington’s Headquarters for public auction as indicated in the object record attached hereto and made part hereof; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the January 10, 2024 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs to initiate the deaccession of items from its collections, specifically the items listed in Schedule A herein, at Dey Mansion Washington’s Headquarters for public auction.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs are authorized to take any action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
