RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT FUNDS FROM THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY DIVISION OF HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY THROUGH THE PASSAIC COUNTY SUSTAINED ENFORCEMENT GRANT, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHERAS, the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioner of the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office (hereinafter “PCSO”) seeks permission to apply and accept funds in the amount of ninety thousand dollars ($90,000.00) from the State of New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety for funds in conjunction with a program called Passaic County Sustained Enforcement Grant (Grant # PT-24-03-04-01) to be used from October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024; and
WHEREAS, this matter has been reviewed by the Law and Public Safety and is being recommended to the Board of for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office to apply and accept funds in the amount of ninety thousand dollars ($90,000.00) for from the State of New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety in conjunction with a program called Passaic County Sustained Enforcement Grant (Grant #PT-24-03-04-01) to be used from October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office shall use the funds received for the purposes set forth in its application for the receipt of said grant funds and as set forth in this resolution.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, County Administrator, Passaic County Sheriff, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
