RESOLUTION APPOINTING A DESIGNEE FOR THE DIRECTOR OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO THE YOUTH SERVICES COMMISSION FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2025, PURSUANT TO N.J.A.C. 13:90-2.4, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.A.C. 13:90-2.3, the County established a Youth Services Commission to plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate community-based sanctions and services for juveniles adjudicated or charged as delinquent and delinquency prevention programs; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.A.C. 13:90-2.4(a)(4), the Director of the Board is designated as a member of the Youth Services Commission as the highest elected official of the County government; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.A.C. 13:90-2.4(c), the Director may be represented by a designee who is qualified by knowledge and/or experience to perform the duties of a member of the Youth Services Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.A.C. 13:90-2.4(c), the Director of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic appoints County Commissioner Orlando Cruz to serve as a designee on the Youth Services Commission for calendar year 2025.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board shall send a certified copy of this Resolution to the Youth Services Commission chairperson.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that County Commissioner Orlando Cruz is authorized to take any action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
