RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A PURCHASE FROM VAN DINES INC. DBA VAN DINE MOTORS, INC., FOR TWO (2) MARAUDER 4.0 AUGER STAINLESS SALTERS FOR SNOW REMOVAL OPERATIONS IN COUNTY PARKS, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Passaic Board of County Commissioners (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, the governing bodies of two or more contracting units may provide by a joint agreement for the provision of the performance of goods and services to be used by their respective jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, by virtue of Resolution R20170119, the County entered into the Bergen County Cooperative Contract Purchasing System # 11-BCCPS, which awarded a contract for Snow Plows, Spreaders, Hydraulics & Controls: Equipment, Parts & Services - Coop, Bid No. BC-BID-25-28 to multiple vendors, including Van Dines Inc. d/b/a Van Dine Motors, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Parks & Recreation received a quote from Van Dine Motors, Inc., for the purchase of two (2) Marauder 4.0 Auger Stainless salters for snow removal operations in County parks, in a total amount not to exceed twenty-one thousand twenty-one dollars ($21,021.00) which is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 6-01-44-900-003-000, or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2026 and/or subsequent years’ County budget(s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the April 29, 2026 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes an award of contract to Van Dines, Inc. d/b/a Van Dine Motors, Inc., for the purchase of two (2) Marauder 4.0 Auger Stainless salters for snow removal operations in County parks, in a total amount not to exceed twenty-one thousand twenty-one dollars ($21,021.00), as recommended by the Director of the Department of Parks & Recreation.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Board are authorized to execute the contracts and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
