RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPOINTMENTS TO THE PASSAIC COUNTY INSURANCE COMMISSION FOR A TWO (2) YEAR TERM, BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2025 AND EXPIRING DECEMBER 31, 2026, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:10-8

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:10-6, the Board established an insurance fund for the purposes as set forth under the law, known as the Passaic County Insurance Commission; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:10-8, the Board shall have the power to appoint three officials of the County, who may be members of the Board, to serve as insurance fund commissioners for a two (2) year term.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:10-8, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic appoints the following officials to the Passaic County Insurance Commission for a two (2) year term, retroactive to January 1, 2025 and expiring December 31, 2026:
1. County Commissioner Orlando Cruz.
2. County Administrator Matthew P. Jordan, Esq.
3. Chief Financial Officer Richard Cahill.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the officials appointed herein are authorized to take any action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution as members of the Passaic County Insurance Commission.
