RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN PASSAIC COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER AND THE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereinafter “Board”) are vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Health Services (hereafter “Department”) is responsible for protecting and promoting the health of approximately 525,000 residents from 16 Municipalities in the County; and
WHEREAS, the Director/Health Officer requests a resolution for a Memorandum of Understanding between the Passaic Community Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center, located at 32 Clinton Street, Paterson, New Jersey 07522 and at 227 Broadway, Paterson, New Jersey 07501 and the County of Passaic Department of Health Services located at 930 Riverview Drive, Suite 250, Totowa, New Jersey 07513, to collaborate to provide health care services; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to include healthcare services for childhood immunizations, care for infants and children up to eighteen (18) years, childhood lead poisoning identification and treatment, improved pregnancy outcomes, diabetes and cardiovascular health services, as well as dental, podiatry and mental health services to improve the quality of life for Passaic County residents in need of these services; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the January 14, 2024, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) hereby authorizes the Department of Health Services to execute the attached Memorandum of Understanding between the Passaic Community Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center, located at 32 Clinton Street, Paterson, New Jersey 07522 and at 227 Broadway, Paterson, New Jersey 07501 and the County of Passaic Department of Health Services located at 930 Riverview Drive, Suite 250, Totowa, New Jersey 07513, to collaborate to provide health care services; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Board, the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Director of Health Services are authorized to take any and all actions necessary to have the above Memorandum of Understanding executed.
