RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PURSUANT TO THE WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT DATA REPORTING AND ANALYSIS FUNDING ALLOCATION FOR PROGRAM YEAR 2026/STATE FISCAL YEAR 2027, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Human Services (“Department”) is an umbrella social service agency concerned with planning and funding services for disadvantaged and homeless citizens; and
WHEREAS, in a notice of award letter dated June 16, 2026, attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution, the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development informed the County that it is eligible to apply for and accept a Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (“WIOA”) grant in the amount of twelve thousand nine hundred and seventy-one dollars ($12,971.00) for WIOA Data Reporting and Analysis in Program Year 2026/State Fiscal Year 2027 (from Jule 1, 2026 to June 30, 2028); and
WHEREAS, a monetary match is not required to accept these funds; and
WHEREAS, this matter was presented for the July 1, 2026, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee, and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Department of Human Services to apply for and accept a Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (“WIOA”) grant in the amount of twelve thousand nine hundred and seventy-one dollars ($12,971.00) for WIOA Data Reporting and Analysis in Program Year 2026/State Fiscal Year 2027 (from Jule 1, 2026 to June 30, 2028), in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in the attached notice of award letter.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, Director of the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Department of Human Services are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
