RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY POLICE ACADEMY TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT FUNDS FROM THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF LAW AND PUBLIC SAFETY, DIVISION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE 2026 LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TRAINING AND EQUIPMENT FUND PROGRAM (LEOTEF) SUBAWARD NUMBER LEOTEF-16-26, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Police Academy desires to apply for and accept funding from the State of New Jersey, Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of Criminal Justice in the amount of twelve thousand five hundred twelve dollars (12,512.00) for state fiscal year 2026 from the Law Enforcement Officer Training and Equipment Fund Program-Subaward Number LEOTEF 16-25; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the May 5, 2026 meeting of the Law and Public Safety Committee, and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:20-1 that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Passaic County Police Academy to apply for and accept funding from the State of New Jersey, Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of Criminal Justice in the amount of twelve thousand five hundred twelve dollars (12,512.00) for state fiscal year 2026 from the Law Enforcement Officer Training and Equipment Fund Program-Subaward Number LEOTEF 16-26; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Passaic County Police Academy shall use the funds received for the purposes described in the application submitted for same; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, and the Director of the Board are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
