RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT THE FFY25 STATE HOMELAND SECURITY PROGRAM GRANT, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioner of the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office (hereinafter “PCPO”) seeks permission to apply for and accept the FFY25 State Homeland Security Program Grant (SHSP - Local Share) (CFDA #97.067, Award #EMW-2025-SS-05034), which will allow it to accept an award of up to one hundred eighty-five thousand one hundred seventy dollars and sixty-four cents ($185,170.64) to support homeland security grant initiatives and payment of certain salaries for the period of September 1, 2025, to July 31, 2028; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the September 15, 2026, meeting of the Law and Public Safety Committee Meeting and is recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 that the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office to apply for and accept the FFY25 State Homeland Security Program Grant (SHSP - Local Share) (CFDA #97.067, Award #EMW-2025-SS-05034), an award of up to one hundred eighty-five thousand one hundred seventy dollars and sixty-four cents ($185,170.64) to support homeland security grant initiatives and payment of certain salaries for the period of September 1, 2025, to July 31, 2028.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office shall use the funds received for the purposes described in the application submitted for same.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, County Administrator, Prosecutor, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
