RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AWARD OF CONTRACT TO TRAFFIC SAFETY SERVICES, LLC FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF FOUR (4) RRFB SYSTEMS WITH DOT POLES, FYG SIGNS, AND PUSH BUTTONS (SOLAR-POWERED PEDESTRIAN CROSSWALK BEACONS) AT THE CROSSWALKS LOCATED AT UNION AVENUE AND ALBION AVENUE AND PREAKNESS AVENUE AND HILL STREET IN THE CITY OF PATERSON, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-6.1(A)

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (the “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) are vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-6.1(a), the Passaic County Purchasing Agent has solicited quotes from qualified vendors to provide and install Solar-Powered Pedestrian Crosswalk Beacons in the Borough of Wanaque; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-6.1(a), the Road Department has identified Traffic Safety Services, LLC, as the vendor most advantageous to the County in performing the service; and

 

WHEREAS, the Supervisor of Roads is recommending an award to Traffic Safety Services, LLC to purchase and install four (4) RRFB Systems with DOT Poles, FYG Signs, and Push Buttons (Solar-Powered Pedestrian Crosswalk Beacons) at the crosswalks located at Union Avenue and Albion Avenue and Preakness Avenue and Hill Street in the City of Paterson in an amount not to exceed twenty four thousand eighty dollars ($24,080.00) in accordance with the quote dated May 13, 2026, from Traffic Safety Services, LLC, which is referenced by incorporation and made part of this Resolution; and

 

WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. T-20-56-880-018-808, or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in 2026 or subsequent years’ County budget(s); and

 

                     WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the May 27, 2026, meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and

 

                     NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-6.1(a), the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes an award of contract to Traffic Safety Services, LLC to purchase and install four (4) RRFB Systems with DOT Poles, FYG Signs, and Push Buttons (Solar-Powered Pedestrian Crosswalk Beacons) at the crosswalks located at Union Avenue and Albion Avenue and Preakness Avenue and Hill Street in the City of Paterson in an amount not to exceed twenty four thousand eighty dollars ($24,080.00) in accordance with the quote dated May 13, 2026, from Traffic Safety Services, LLC, which is incorporated by reference and made part of this Resolution.

 

                     LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, Director of the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs, and the Director of the Board are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
