RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPOINTMENTS TO THE PASSAIC COUNTY BROWNFIELDS COMMISSION, PASSAIC COUNTY MOTION PICTURE & TELEVISION FILM COMMISSION, AND PASSAIC COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC COMMITTEE FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2024, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Division of Economic Development oversees the Passaic County Brownfields Commission, the Passaic County Motion Picture and Television Commission, and the Passaic County Comprehensive Economic Development Strategic Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Brownfields Commission provides community outreach; identifies and evaluates brownfield sites; runs special educational programs; provides free Brownfield redevelopment guidance to municipalities, developers and property owners; identifies grant funding sources for Brownfield studies and remediation; and is comprised of local community representatives, stakeholders, municipal representatives, local experts, and individuals active in environmental issues; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Motion Picture and Television Commission seeks to advance the motion picture and television film industry in the County; create local employment opportunities; improve the economy of the County; and has been designated as a “Film Ready Community” by the State of New Jersey; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Comprehensive Economic Development Strategic Committee is responsible for developing and overseeing the Passaic County Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy; and facilitating the economic development planning and implementation process in the County; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Division of Economic Development is recommending to make appointments to the Passaic County Brownfields Commission, the Passaic County Motion Picture and Television Commission, and the Passaic County Comprehensive Economic Development Strategic Committee, as stated in Schedule A, which is attached hereto and made part of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the February 7, 2024 Administration & Finance Committee meeting and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes the appointments set forth in Schedule A to the Passaic County Brownfields Commission, Passaic County Motion Picture & Television Film Commission, and Passaic County Comprehensive Economic Development Strategic Committee for calendar year 2024.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, County Administrator, Director of the Division of Economic Development, and Director of the Board are authorized to take any action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
