RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF THE FY 2025 NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION - GREEN STREETS & STORMWATER INFRASTRUCTURE MAPPING GRANT PROGRAM

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Planning and Economic Development is requesting a resolution authorizing the acceptance of the FY 2025 New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection- Green Streets & Stormwater Infrastructure Mapping Grant Award; and
WHEREAS, the Green Streets & Stormwater Infrastructure Mapping Grant program will fund the promotion of stormwater management along the County roadway system and increase resilience within communities through stormwater infrastructure (green streets) and stormwater infrastructure mapping per P.L. 117-1 American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, P.L. 2021, c.225 (S3618 lR); and N.J.S.A.13:1B-3, N.J.S.A.13:1D-9; and
WHEREAS, the grant award is for seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000.00) to develop a Green Streets Project Plan and for one hundred thirty-five thousand dollars ($135,000.00) to develop an MS4 Stormwater Infrastructure Map for a total of two hundred ten thousand dollars ($210,000.00); and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the February 26, 2026, meeting of the Planning and Economic Development Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, by the Passaic County Board of County Commissioners that the County Commissioner Director and Clerk of the Board be and are hereby authorized to accept the FY 2025 New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection- Green Streets & Stormwater Infrastructure Mapping Grant Award for a total amount of two hundred ten thousand dollars ($210,000.00).
