RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIVISION OF PARATRANSIT TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE COORDINATING COUNCIL ON ACCESS AND MOBILITY TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE CENTER (CCAM-TAC) FOR THE 2027 COMMUNITY RIDES GRANT PROGRAM, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:5-30

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) are vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the County, through its Department of Senior Services (hereafter “Department”), provides assistance with senior benefit programs, including home and community services to senior citizens throughout Passaic County; and
WHEREAS, the Department operates the Passaic County Para-Transit System, providing transportation for the County’s senior citizens and disabled residents in need of transportation services; and
WHEREAS, the Department’s Division of Paratransit is requesting authorization to apply for and accept a federal grant from the Coordinating Council on Access and Mobility Technical Assistance Center (CCAM-TAC) 2027 Community Rides Grant program, in the requested amount of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00); and
WHEREAS, if the County’s application is approved, the Department will use the funds to assist in the expansion effort of the Passaic County MOVE micro-transit program; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the September 9, 2026, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:5-30, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Director of the Department of Senior Services to apply for and accept a federal grant from the Coordinating Council on Access and Mobility Technical Assistance Center (CCAM-TAC) 2027 Community Rides Grant program, in the requested amount of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00).
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, Director of the Board, County Administrator, County Counsel, and Director of the Department of Senior Services, and Director of the Division of Paratransit are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
