RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF CULTURAL & HISTORIC AFFAIRS TO APPLY & ACCEPT A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF 3.6 MILLION DOLLARS FROM STATE OF NEW JERSEY FOR THE RESTORATION OF LAMBERT CASTLE CARRIAGE HOUSE RESTORATION & VISITOR CENTER PROJECT, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:20-1, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Cultural & Historic Affairs is seeking authorization to apply and accept the grant from the State of New Jersey for the Restoration of Lambert Castle Carriage House Restoration & Visitor Center Project in the amount of three million six hundred thousand dollars ($3,600,000.00) for the FY2024 Legislative Grant from the State of New Jersey for a Legislative Grant Term from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the February 7, 2024 meeting of the Public Works Committee, and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:20-1 that the Passaic County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Director of Cultural & Historic Affairs to accept the grant in the amount of in the amount of three million six hundred thousand dollars ($3,600,000.00) for the FY2024 Legislative Grant from the State of New Jersey for the restoration of the Lambert Castle Carriage House Restoration and the Visitor Center.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, Director of Cultural & Historic Affairs, and the Director of the Board are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
