RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AWARD OF CONTRACT TO MURRAY PAVING & CONCRETE, LLC, TO REPLACE A COURTYARD DOOR ENTRYWAY AND INSTALL A CONCRETE PATH AT PREAKNESS HEALTHCARE CENTER, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (the “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) are vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, Preakness Healthcare Center is in need of a new courtyard door entryway, and a concrete path compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, the governing bodies of two or more contracting units may provide by a joint agreement for the provision of the performance of goods and services to be used by their respective jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, the County is a member of the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey, which awarded a contract for Job Order Contracting - General Repair & Maintenance - All Regions, Contract #ESCNJ 20/21-03 to Murray Paving & Concrete, LLC, to provide general repair and maintenance services to members of the cooperative; and
WHEREAS, Murray Paving & Concrete, LLC, provided a quote to install a new courtyard door entryway, and an ADA compliant concrete path at Preakness Healthcare Center to the County Engineer, in an amount not to exceed fifty-five thousand nine hundred fifteen dollars and forty cents ($55,915.40) attached to and made part of this resolution, which is being recommended for approval by the County Engineer; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. C-04-55-148-001-911 or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2024 and/or subsequent years’ County budget(s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the February 14, 2024 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic is authorizing an award of contract to Murray Paving & Concrete, LLC, to install a new courtyard door entryway, and an ADA compliant concrete path at Preakness Healthcare Center, in an amount not to exceed fifty-five thousand nine hundred fifteen dollars and forty cents ($55,915.40), as recommended by the County Engineer.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Board of County Commissioners, the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Purchasing Agent are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
