RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES TO AMEND RESOLUTION R-26-0223, DATED MARCH 24, 2026, TO ACCEPT ADDITIONAL GRANT FUNDING FROM THE NEW JERSEY ASSOCIATION OF COUNTY AND CITY HEALTH OFFICIALS THROUGH THE ENHANCING LOCAL PUBLIC HEALTH INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT PROGRAM, APPLIED FOR AND ACCEPTED ON BEHALF OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST MILFORD, NJ, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (the “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) are vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Health Services (hereafter “Department”) is responsible for protecting and promoting the health of approximately 525,000 residents from 16 municipalities in the County; and
WHEREAS, the Director/Health Officer of the Department is requesting a resolution to amend Resolution R-26-0223, dated March 24, 2026, to accept additional grant funding from the New Jersey Association of County and City Health Officials (hereafter “NJACCHO”) with guidance from the New Jersey Department of Health (hereafter “NJDOH”) for the Enhancing Local Public Health Infrastructure Grant; and
WHEREAS, the additional amount of the grant will be forty-seven thousand thirty-five and 00/100 ($47,035.00) dollars; and
WHEREAS, the new total award amount is two hundred ninety-eight thousand nine hundred thirty-four and 00/100 ($298,934.00) dollars; and
WHEREAS, all funds must be expended by July 31, 2026, and terms of the original agreement remain in place; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the April 15, 2026, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) hereby authorizes the Department of Health Services to amend Resolution R-26-0223 dated March 24, 2026, to accept additional grant funding in the amount of $47,035.00 from the New Jersey Association of County and City Health Officials with guidance from the New Jersey Department of Health for the Enhancing Local Public Health Infrastructure Grant Program, applied for and accepted on behalf of the Township of West Milford, NJ, for a new total award amount of $298,934.00, as set forth above; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Board, the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and the Director/ Health Officer are authorized to take the necessary actions to apply for and accept the grant application authorized on behalf of the County of Passaic.
