RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN THE CONTRACT AWARD TO 360 FIRE PREVENTION SERVICES FOR USE BY THE PASSAIC COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE (SB-23-036), PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4 ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office (hereafter “PCSO”) has requested the purchase of various items and services for use in furtherance of its objectives; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4, et seq., for every contract awarded by the County for the provision or performance of any goods or services, the cost of which in the aggregate exceeds the bid threshold established pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-3, shall be awarded by resolution of the Board to the lowest responsible bidder after public advertisement for bids and bidding thereof; and
WHEREAS, by resolution R-23-0294, dated March 28, 2023, the Board approved a contract with 360 Fire Prevention, LLC as the lowest bidder for SB-23-036, for new equipment installation, repair, inspection and maintenance of fire suppression systems and domestic water back flow preventers for the period from May 1, 2023 to April 30, 2025 in an amount not to exceed one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) per year of the term; and
WHEREAS, the PCSO desires to increase the appropriation for this contract in the amount of sixty-one thousand five hundred and seventy-five dollars ($61,575.00) for the installation of a Clean Agent Fire Suppression System in the PCSO Server Room; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed by the Law and Public Safety Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in account C-04-55-166-001-902 or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2024 and/or subsequent years’ County budget(s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-4, that the Board of County Commissioner of the County of Passaic authorizes the increase in appropriation of the contract with 360 Fire Prevention in an amount of sixty-one thousand five hundred and seventy-five dollars ($61,575.00) for the installation of a Clean Agent Fire Suppression System in the PCSO Server Room.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, and the Director of the Board are authorized to execute the contracts and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
